Burn permits are issued through El Paso County Public Health Department, the application is simple and all you have to do is contact the El Paso Communication Center (our Dispatch) and notify them of your permit number and times of burn operations. Please note that no fires should be started during Red Flag Warnings or any fire restrictions.

The district provides emergency response services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, the district currently relies heavily on dedicated volunteer firefighters and EMTs to respond from home, work, or the station when emergencies occur. Because volunteers cannot be required to staff the station around the clock, response times may occasionally be extended, and neighboring mutual aid agencies may assist or arrive first depending on location and personnel availability. To better serve our growing community, the district is actively exploring funding opportunities to provide daytime staffing seven days a week and enhance response capabilities.

For non-emergency matters, you may contact the Petyon Fire Protection District office during normal business hours. Please be aware that our station is not staffed 24 hours a day, and there may not always be personnel available to answer the station phone.
